Crimped cards were pretty common, especially in later sets. I have some really messed up crimped cards from Exile and Alliance.

I think the first crimped card I ever got was the Meowth promo from the old Pokemon TCG GB game. It's always annoying, but think of it as a pleasant surprise as DT packs are incredibly cheap
