I'm teaching a friend how to play and right now we are just using cards from ghost files. My question is who do you think is the best team to build a deck around from the base set and why?
I've always done well with rokuyukai but I never played competitive. Also, I feel like st beast is good but I don't have enough members of the team from the base set.

Toguro hands down if memory serves me correctly. Rokuyukai was runner up I believe. Rokuyukai got better in Dark Tournament with Rokuyukai Challenge and the ability to mill with that and King Yama's Wrath.

I think it is definitely Rokuyukai or Toguru. The problem with a lot of the other teams is that they just don't have enough team members that aren't just totally embarrassing. Rokuyukai has one of the best cards in the early expansion with Chu, Team Captain, and their Team Bonus is crazy good for Ghost Files.
Toguru has way more power than the other teams and has more playable fighters, but you are living off the top of your deck fairly frequently since you're using so many power boosters.
