I figure most will notice the server being gone before seeing this post, but yeah.
So, after careful consideration, I have noted and decided that the server has gone outside its purpose. The purpose was to be a hub for folks to buy/sell/trade and have direct communication easier, especially to avoid eBay fees. And for a long time, that's what it was. It was a hub for information, trades/sales, and overall meant to be a positive part of the community. However, recently, I have noticed and felt that the server was no longer serving this purpose. Public displays of mud slinging were becoming a norm and that's really not what the server was about.
When I created the database, it was never to become a "leader" in the community. I created the database, the forum, the server, and more, to help everyone in the community. It was never meant to go beyond that. I have a house of information on the game, card backgrounds, and general information, and one of the biggest things was the overall accessibility to everything that is the Yu Yu Hakusho TCG. That's what I wanted to be (and still believe I am), a source of knowledge...not a source of power.
I will be taking a step back from the game. I'll still continue collecting (however I please, mind you), but I will no longer be establishing contact with the members of the community outside of transactions.
The forum is here to stay, my list is still linked in there, along with everyone else's.
The last 1.25 years were a ride, but I'm not sure I'd ride it again.
